Governor Schwarzenegger Announces First-in-the-Nation Cabinet Position for Service and Volunteering

The Governor today took first-in-the-nation action to encourage volunteerism in California and to improve coordination of volunteer efforts between the state’s departments and agencies by signing an executive order to create the position of Secretary of Service and Volunteering. He was joined by First Lady Maria Shriver, Senator Wofford and hundreds of volunteerism supporters.
